Although I’ve been reading a couple knitting books by Amy Herzog. I completed Knit to Flatter. I got some great ideas in knowing my body measurements and places within the a sweater to make adjustments. I have never thought of adding darts in the bust line with short rows. Also, using some short rows to accommodate for the hips. The current one is Knit Love Wear. I liked this book more than her other book. The book had 8 different sweater patterns call meta-patterns. You have a basic structure but you change neckline, sleeves, length etc. to adjust to your body therefore improving the the fit. Additionally, you learn ways to make other changes to the patterns such cables or stitch pattern. Lastly, patterns had different information for yarn weights-fingering/sport, dk or aran. The book was in my local library but this is one that I would like to have in my personal library. I’m looking at checking out three more books-Sweater Design in Plain English by Maggie Righetti, Vogue Knitting-The Ultimate Knitting Book and The Knitter’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns by Ann Budd.
In addition, I’ve been working on a wrap by Patons-Texture Wrap. I almost have it finished but I hurt my left hand. I’ve had to break from knitting. I have been doing some hand sewing. I’ve shown a friend to use the mattress stitch to mend her sweaters. Here’s a quick look at the Texture Wrap.
I hope to be back knitting soon. This has given me time to plan my 2019 knitting.
